NFL Paris 2027 teams: who could come to Paris?
No matchup has been announced for an NFL game in Paris in 2027. Marketing rights in France, clubs used to travelling to Europe and how teams are assigned: here are the leads, framed as possible candidates rather than certainties.
The first regular-season NFL game in France kicks off on Sunday 25 October 2026 at the Stade de France, and the next question is already everywhere: who comes back after that? This page looks, carefully, at which teams could play in Saint-Denis next year. To be clear from the start: no matchup has been announced, and the league has not confirmed a Paris game. A return is expected and very likely, but only the official announcement counts. We will post it here the moment it lands.
NFL Paris 2027 teams: where do things stand?
As of 21 October 2026 the picture is simple. No 2027 host city, date or team has been revealed. What we do know is that NFL owners approved up to 10 international games per season from 2027 at their late-May 2026 meeting in Orlando, up from 8. Commissioner Roger Goodell has spoken of 16 international games as a long-term goal. More games means more teams involved, and so more possible pairings.
For Paris, the buzz around the 25 October game and the country's status as a priority market make the French capital a natural candidate. But no multi-year deal with France is known, unlike Madrid, Mexico City or Germany. Any matchup named today is therefore a hypothesis, not news. For the calendar question, see our page NFL Paris 2027: what date?.
How the NFL picks the teams for a 2027 game abroad
The mechanics are familiar. Each season the league names host cities and stadiums first, often early in the year. The matchups themselves are then revealed alongside the full schedule, usually around mid-May: in 2025 the international list came out on 13 May and the schedule on 14 May; in 2026 the Steelers-Saints game was announced on 13 May.
In each game, one team is designated the home side, giving up one of its home dates to play overseas. That is the case for the Saints this year: they gave up one of their nine home games, with a 10 per cent discount on tickets and parking for season-ticket holders as compensation.
What the May 2026 rule means for NFL 2027 games
Since May 2026, clubs can no longer protect their home games from being moved abroad. In practice no franchise can consider itself safe: any of them can be selected. That is worth keeping in mind when reading the lists of "candidates" that circulate online.
The Global Markets Program and the NFL 2027 teams tied to France
To understand the possible choices, look at the Global Markets Program. It gives each club international markets where it can build its brand: all 32 franchises take part, across roughly 22 markets. According to the program's official page, the New Orleans Saints are the only club holding rights in France, since 2023, the first club on that market. They also have a partnership with the Paris Musketeers and have held Italy since March 2026, alongside the Browns.
On paper that makes the Saints a natural candidate for France, but the obvious choice is not always what happens: in 2026 they are already the designated team in Paris. Nothing suggests any club is obliged to return, or to step aside.
Other markets show the NFL 2027 logic
Outside France, markets are shared. Germany has many clubs (Falcons, Panthers, Lions, Packers, Colts, Chiefs, Patriots, Giants, Steelers, Seahawks, Buccaneers). The United Kingdom has about ten (Ravens, Bears, Packers, Jaguars, Chiefs, Raiders, Dolphins, Vikings, Jets, 49ers), Spain three (Bears, Chiefs, Dolphins) and Ireland six (Packers, Jaguars, Chiefs, Jets, Steelers, Titans). A shared market gives the league plenty of options; a single-club market like France puts the spotlight on one franchise.
Possible candidates for an NFL Paris 2027 game: a cautious table
Here are a few leads reasoned from public facts. This is not a forecast: any franchise can be designated, and none of the teams below has been announced.
| Possible candidate | Why it comes up | Status |
|---|---|---|
| New Orleans Saints | Only club holding France rights since 2023, partnership with the Paris Musketeers | Not announced |
| Kansas City Chiefs | Present in the German, British, Spanish and Irish markets; already played in Frankfurt (2023) and São Paulo (2025) | Not announced |
| Pittsburgh Steelers | Irish market, game in Dublin in 2025 then Paris in 2026; hugely followed outside the US | Not announced |
| Jacksonville Jaguars | In London every year since 2013, long experience of European trips | Not announced |
The table shows a logic, not a list of favourites. Teams such as the Giants, Dolphins, Raiders, Bears, Seahawks, Panthers, Eagles or Texans have also played abroad, and the league may well surprise us.
Rumours and NFL 2027: why wait for the official announcement
A recent example calls for caution. In February 2026 a press rumour named the Browns for the Paris game. It was never confirmed: the official matchup, announced on 13 May, was Steelers-Saints. The lesson holds for 2027: until the NFL communicates, names doing the rounds remain guesses, including on social media or in some articles.
Where to find reliable news on NFL 2027 in Paris
Follow league announcements, the websites of the clubs involved and the nfl.com/Paris registration page. Our site is independent and has no link with the NFL, but we relay official announcements as soon as they are published. You can also read our page on NFL international games in Europe to follow the whole programme.
Getting ready for an NFL Paris 2027 game before the matchup is known
You do not need to know the opponent to be prepared. For 2026, ticketing went through Ticketmaster France: American Express presale in early June, general sale on 16 July, with prior registration via nfl.com/Paris. If the pattern repeats, set up your account and follow the news. On budget, the 2026 price range ran from 91.22 to 425.75 euros all-in; that is only a benchmark, as no 2027 price exists. Details are on our page NFL Paris 2027 ticket prices.
Whatever the matchup, the advice stays the same: buy through official channels and never pay by bank transfer to a stranger. A simple screenshot of a ticket is not a valid ticket.
Email alert: be told the NFL 2027 matchup first
The most useful thing is not to miss it. As soon as the NFL confirms a return to Paris and reveals the matchup, we will alert you by email: the form is at the bottom of this page. Until then, the Steelers-Saints game on 25 October 2026 is the event to follow, and the best way to see how a designated home team and a visiting side shape a weekend in Saint-Denis; everything is on the Steelers-Saints in Paris page. The rest, teams included, is still an open question, and we would rather say so honestly than guess.
